Ravi Persaud is a Halifax based contemporary folk singer/songwriter, sound engineer, multi-instrumentalist and producer.

Ravi collaborates with a local troupe of passionate players to perform well-crafted, and often spontaneous, arrangements of Ravi’s original songs. His performing band name is The Nurturing Kind, which can at times include up to 15-band members with diverse instrumentation. Ravi alternates through playing guitars, basses and keyboards, whie offering deep and delicate vocals.  His current core band line-up includes Karen Zila Hayes (backing vocals) Matt Gallant (drums), Jacques Mindreau (violin), Adam Cyril Pye (double bass), Phil Gallant (guitar) with additional members hailing from Halifax and Toronto.
